Stewart Jacoby is a Colorado native and U.S.
Navy veteran. He is the
Director of Radio Programming for South Texas Public Broadcasting and he begins
our classical music programming every weekday morning, at 9:05, as the current
host of First Hour.
Jacoby’s radio and television news career spans more
than 40 years. As a news cameraman,
reporter and bureau chief, his career has taken him through the rebellious
1960’s and the Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, Civil Rights March, to the deserts
and turmoil of the Middle East.
Jacoby has covered a variety of news events throughout the United States and
many parts of the world, principally Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle
East, Caribbean and Southeast Asia.
He has received numerous national and regional awards, and he is a former
Television Newsfilm Cameraman of the Year.
Jacoby is one of only a handful of journalists to be honored for his body of
work by the Colorado State Legislature.
Jacoby is a member of the Corpus Christi World Affairs Council, the Corpus
Christi International Competition, the Biblical Archeology Society and a past
member of many other national organizations.
Jacoby’s outside interests include Ancient and Western History, Writing,
Cartooning, and Ship Modeling.
