I live in my beautiful hometown of Rockport, TX. Currently I’m studying Communications at Del Mar College with a goal of having my first documentary completed by Spring 2013. I’m looking forward to creating films/documentaries that educate, inspire, and invoke laughter, justice, and equality with the caveat that I have a couple of bones to pick. There are a few ideas up my sleeve, to boot, that have to do with community, theatre, film, art, food, and the youth. With that being said, the opportunity to work in public radio keeps me involved now and continuously with music, the arts, and news. Public radio is a safe place for all of us as it oscillates healthy connections in the community and the world. To be a part of the KEDT and PBS family makes me a very blessed person. Join me on the weekends for Saturday’s hilarious morning shows and afternoon music, and Sunday’s Classical Music by Request. I look forward to it! And now I close with a quote by someone special: “To find the purpose for your life, think of a plan that will change (benefit) the world.”Click here to email Amanda Benavides.
