Volunteer at KEDT

As you may know, KEDT-TV, KEDT-FM & KVRT-FM all rely on membership campaigns to help us deliver great programs to viewers and listeners throughout South Texas.  However, you can show support of your community-owned public broadcasting station by donating your time.

Volunteering at KEDT can be a great opportunity for individuals or groups who are interested in community service. During our TV & FM membership drives, KEDT volunteers perform the essential task of recording pledges called in from our listeners. The process is great fun and snacks/refreshments are provided. You may also be part of a live broadcast. No experience is required; we just ask that volunteers be at least 14 years of age.

Ways to Volunteer

There are many different things that the viewer and listener can do to volunteer at the television or radio station.   Many people who want to volunteer their time to KEDT or KVRT often wonder "What can I do?".
  • TV & FM Membership Drives as Phone Bank Volunteers
  • Special Events
Other KEDT volunteer opportunities include the KEDT-TV AuctionClassic Brew, the KVRT Classic, and the Food and Wine Classic.  Periodically, we host special events and educational and outreach programs.  The volunteer opportunities are endless and we have something to suit your specific interest -- from ushering to clerical duties to telephone tasks.
  • General Office Assistance
Volunteers are always needed to provide office assistance during the work week, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:30 pm. Work assignments vary depending on the need of the station and/or department. Among the duties available:
  • General Bulk Mailings
  • Data Entry
  • Filing/Clerical Work
  • Premium Distribution
  • Building Services

Volunteer Registration

The benefits are obvious!  Volunteering at KEDT is great fun, it offers camaraderie for old and new friends, provides a chance for you or your group to be recognized by a vast audience, and most importantly, you will make a generous contribution of time to help support your community-owned public broadcasting station.

Please complete our Volunteer Registration Form today.

Volunteer Groups

KEDT-TV/FM & KVRT-FM Membership Campaigns offer promotional opportunities for organizations that volunteer with a group of 10 or more. During live broadcasts, a designated spokesperson from your group can be interviewed on-air by our TV talent, speaking about your group's mission and reason for volunteering.  Your group can proudly hang your organization’s banner for on-air recognition throughout the day or night.  We will include your group's name in our online Volunteer Group's List and your group’s name will also be displayed on our website as a thank you for your support.

For KEDT-TV Auction, your group of 20 or more will be given credits on-air throughout the duration of this event.

KEDT will include your group's name in our online Volunteer Group's List on the KEDT website as a "thank you" for your support.
