The documentary details the events and causes that led to the conflict and highlights such notable moments as the burning of Washington, D.C.; Andrew Jackson's victory at the Battle of New Orleans; and the birth of the American national anthem. It also details how the war shaped the nation's boundaries; and ended the Native American dream of a separate Indian nation.
